September 15, 2003 

The regular meeting of the Town of Wilson Town Board was held Monday, September 15, 2003 at 7:30 p.m. in the auditorium of the Town Hall. 

The following people were present:

Supervisor                     Jerry L. Dean

Councilmen                   Brad Clark, Nancy Schaal Simmons and Donald Luff

Attorney                       Walter E. Moxham, Jr.

Hwy. Superintendent            Daniel Kerwin

Bldg. Inspector              Lawrence Banks

Assessor                       Milton Bradshaw

 Absent: Councilman Bruce Muck 

A motion was made by Mr. Clark, seconded by Mrs. Simmons and unanimously carried, the minutes of  the August 18, 2003 Regular meeting, the August 26, 2003 Special Meeting and the September 8, 2003 Special Meeting be approved as submitted.

 A motion was made by Mr. Luff, seconded by Mr. Clark and unanimously carried, the following bills be allowed as audited by the Board:

A request was received from the Building Inspector for authorization to purchase the “Inspector Butler” computer program at a cost of $695.00. 

A request was received from the Highway Superintendent for authorization to purchase a computer for the Water Department at a cost of $1200.00. 

A thank you was received from the Tax Collector for allowing her to attend the Northeast Regional Tax Collectors Conference in Middletown, Rhode Island. 

No one wished to speak during public participation. 

The Planning Board will meet Tuesday, October 14, 2003. 

Mr. Banks reported 17 building permits valued at approximately $626,000 were issued in August. 

Mr. Moxham  would like to meet with the Board during the next workshop meeting to discuss the problems with parking at Roosevelt Beach. 

 The next workshop meeting will be Tuesday, October 14,  2003 at 7:30 p.m. 

Budget workshop meetings will be held Monday, September 22, 2003 at 4:30 p.m. and Thursday, September  25, 2003 at 4:30 p.m. 

A motion was made by Mrs. Simmons, seconded by Mr. Luff and unanimously carried, the Building Inspector be authorized to purchase a computer program at a cost of $695.00 as requested. 

A motion was made by Mr. Luff, seconded by Mr. Clark and unanimously carried, the Highway Superintendent be authorized to purchase a new computer for the Water Department at a cost of about $1,200.00. 

At this time, the Town Clerk presented the 2004 Tentative Budget to the Town Board.

Mr. Dean spoke briefly about the 2004 Tentative Budget. 

Mr. Dean spoke about Wilson Community Enhancement Charity’s plan to hold a Halloween Party at the Boathouse Restaurant to benefit the Greenwood Cemetery Restoration Project. 

The next regular meeting will be Monday,  October 20, 2003. 

A motion was made by Mr. Clark, seconded by Mrs. Simmons and unanimously carried, the meeting be adjourned at 7:46 p.m.
