The regular meeting of the
Town of Wilson Town Board was held Wednesday, August 18, 2010 at
4:00 p.m. in the auditorium of the Town Hall.
The following people were
present:

A motion was made by Mr.
Muscoreil, seconded by Mr. Clark and unanimously carried, the
minutes of the July 21, 2010 regular meeting and the August 4,
2010 workshop meeting be approved as read by the Clerk.
A motion was made by Mr.
Munnikuhysen, seconded by Mr. Thompson and unanimously carried,

A thank you was received from
the family of Betty E. Clark for the expressions of sympathies
shown on her recent passing.
A thank you was received from
the Niagara County Environmental Management Council for the
Town’s support and the Supervisor’s sponsorship of the July 31st
Electronic Waste Recycling and Clothing Collection that took
place at the South Wilson Fire Hall July 31st.
A request was received from
Walter E. Moxham, Jr., Wilson Community Enhancement charity, to
join the Charity and the Village in sharing the cost of
upgrading the webcam in the Harbor. The bid received for the
work was in the amount of $3,125.00.
The Supervisor opened public
participation.
A Sunset Island resident spoke
about the parking fees Sunset Island residents are being charged
by Wilson Tuscarora State Park.
A Beebe Road resident
expressed her safety concerns following the Frontier Skydivers
recent plane crash.
Legislator David Godfrey spoke
about county matters and announced that the Niagara County
Legislature will honor Wilson Central School Superintendent Dr.
Michael Wendt and his two sons September 7, 2010 for their
heroic efforts following the Frontier Skydivers plane crash. He
told the Board that a committee is studying the wind turbine
proposal for the Great Lakes and should have a resolution
prepared in September.
Mr. Banks reported 14 building
permits issued in July with an estimated value of $419,000. He
told the Board he has been working on the proposed zoning change
for Daisy Barn Campground.
Mr. Clark spoke about the
success of this year’s Summer Recreation Program. He was sorry
to report that Debi Diez has decided not to return as program
director next summer and Rebecca Mahl is moving out of the area
and also will not return to the program.
He expressed his concern over
all of the new County rules and regulations imposed upon the
Town of Wilson’s Summer Recreation Program when only our Town
and one other complied.
He told the Board he has not
received the cost information on the Coolidge Avenue property
transfers as yet. He also told the Board that the blacktop work
has not beendone on the Riverview Boat Launch.
Mr. Jastrzemski spoke about
his plans to meet with Wilson Tuscarora Park Officials to
discuss the Sunset Island parking fees.
He told the Board he has not
had an opportunity to speak with Michael Metzger, Metzger
Engineering, about the proposal he submitted for landfill
testing.
Mr. Jastrzemski will meet
with Mayor Kelahan, the Village Attorney and the Town Attorney
on Monday to discuss the Firemen’s Incentive and the Village
request for an increase in the Sunset Island Sewer charges.
A Resolution was offered by
Mr. Jastrzemski, seconded by Mr. Clark and unanimously adopted,
the Snow and Ice Contract between the Town of Wilson and the
State of New York be approved. Copy attached to these minutes.
A Resolution was offered by
Mr. Jastrzemski, seconded by Mr. Muscoreil and unanimously
adopted, authorizing the payment of 1/3 of the $3,125.00 cost
for upgrading the webcam at the harbor after the work is
completed.
A motion was made by Mr.
Munnikuhysen, seconded by Mr. Clark and unanimously adopted a
special meeting be set for Wednesday, September 1, 2010 at 3:30
p.m. followed by the workshop meeting.
The next regular meeting will
be Wednesday, September 15, 2010.
A motion was made by Mr.
Clark, seconded by Mr. Thompson and unanimously carried, the
meeting be adjourned at 4:45 p.m.
